Fika School in next year’s budget, and Buni stride in education infrastructure
The Yobe State government has comfirmed to NEWISSUES that the state of Government Secondary School, Fika, was brought to their attention a while ago and the school has been included in next year’s budget before a video was made recently and shared on social media by one of its citizen who is probably aware of the plan of the government to rehabilitate the school.
Governor Buni declared a state of emergency on basic and secondary education shortly after he took over affairs of the state. Since taking over the Buni administration has intervened in rehabilitation of over 200 schools. Six new Model schools were built in Damaturu, Gashua, Potiskum, Geidam, Nguru and Buni Yadi.
Seven new Mega Schools were established and constructed in Potiskum, two in Damaturu, Gashua Nguru, Geidam and Buni Yadi, all in the state’s drive to provide conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.
The Buni administration has procured and distributed over N1billion worth of text books, laboratory equipments, chemicals and other materials.

Classroom and office furniture worth N1billion were procured and distributed to schools across the state, over 10,000 teachers trained and retrained to enhance manpower requirements for schools.
“Governor Buni and people who work with him are always accessible to the citizens of Yobe State and people who have interest in Yobe State,” Dr. Mohammed Goje, Executive Secretary, Yobe State Emergency Management Agency, said to NEWISSUES. “If there is a problem, his Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni will never rest until it is solved, especially if it pertains education of our people. In terms of education infrastructure, no one can dispute how well Governor Buni has done in Yobe State. I hope those sharing videos and making claims that all people in government do is go around in convoy of vehicles will also share all the good work that is being done in Yobe.”
