The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali, has ordered an internal investigation into the allegation against DCP Abba Kyari. In the press release by spokesman of the police CP Frank Uba, the IGP confirmed that the United States’ the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have contacted the Nigerian Police on the matter.
DCP Abba Kyari was implicated by the FBI in an investigation of fraudster Ramon Abbas, Husspuppi, who it was alleged gave Abba Kyari $1.1m. Mr. Abba Kyari has tried to deny the allegation saying Husspuppi only send N300,000 which was used to buy clothes and caps for Husspuppi.
Shortly after Abba Kyari response information surfaced that the FBI actually have enough information of Abba Kyari involvement with the fraudster Husspuppi.

Sequel to the receipt of allegations and indictment processes from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) against one of the personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, DCP Abba Kyari, the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba psc (+), NPM, fdc has ordered an internal review of the allegations.
The Nigeria Police Force reaffirms its commitment to the pursuit of justice and the strengthening of its professional relationship with the FBI and other international partners.
Further developments on this case will be communicated to members of the public accordingly.
