Nigeria on Tuesday logged 610 new COVID-19 cases, the second highest in nearly six months. NCDC said the new infections have jacked up the country’s confirmed cases to 179,118.
In contrast, only 422 cases were registered for Monday.
The 610 new cases were reported in 12 states and the FCT, as active cases jumped to 10,324.
Again the states of Lagos, Rivers and Akwa-Ibom drove the COVID-19 surge on Tuesday.
Two new deaths were recorded, slightly raising fatalities to 2,194.
The number of the discharged went up to 166,131 after 149 people recovered on Tuesday.
