Experience helps the wise. Senator Bala Mohammed brought all of it from the FCT to Bauchi State. He doesnt have to splash it on social media but it caught the eyes of one of ours Kuchi Libi Isaac who writes for NEWISSUES magazine from Bauchi and I decided to check it up.
Nigeria hears of Governor Zulum. When Zulum governs a war zone and had had different confrontation with the army to make headlines, one governor who works quietly from that zone is Senator Bala.
Few weeks ago, to be precise on 29th July, 2021, rain flooded Bauchi-Ningi-Kano Highway bridge, lives were lost. Though it is a federal road and the responsibility of the federal government to fix, Gov. Bala Mohammed directed immediate reconstruction of the bridge within a week.
Bauchi State government personally supervise the work. It was done. No one heard this story. Other governors would have splashed it everywhere. I am not sure any national media carried the story.
One biggest achievement of Governor Bala Mohammed or that of any governor is ensuring internal peace and peaceful co-existent in his state. Bauchi State has been one of the most peaceful in its zone, not just peaceful, the safest in terms of crime and criminality.
Even in Hon. Dogara’s constituency where you would expect hostility because of the way and manner Gov. Bala fell out with the former Speaker of the House of Assembly, it is all love for Governor Bala Mohammed. Mr. Dogara left the PDP for the APC sighting disagreement with the governor, but he did not consult with the people of his constituency. They heard Dogara departure to the APC from the news. The people themselves paid a visit to Governor Bala to assure him they are with him.
The opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state have been silenced by performance.
