BB Naija: Making us see who we truly are

By Dan koje

The BBNaija evokes passions. Some, outrage. Others, entertainment with a tinge of bewilderment. That show should never be banned. It is a barometer of societal values, a depiction of our depravity as a people. It just mirrors who we are, what we do in our closets.

You can pretend but at some point, the prying cameras strewn across the house notwithstanding, your inner demons would be unleashed.

To those complaining that the show corrupts, I disagree. The participants were picked from amongst us. We are watching ourselves, a reflection of our characteristics—our innate predispositions. We are hypocrites. Besides, it is x-rated. You can opt out if you please.

The show is only making us see who we truly are.

It is utterly condemnable for married people to yank all their marriage vows and be indulging in extramarital affairs but to do it on satellite television for her friends, family, child and everyone to see, is a different level of depravity. It is unconscionable.

Now let me ask.

That said. Are we going to ignore this dude who feels 360° at home having sex with a married woman on live television? Should someone like him be a brand ambassador or even a public figure?

In my view, he deserves as much condemnation as the woman. Such a man is unscrupulous. He should never be seen around little girls. He has zero self-control. Nothing is off-limits.
