A 400-level student of Federal University, Kashere (FUK), Gombe State, Nalkur Zwalnan Lar of the Education Department, hung himself outside the school campus on Wednesday night.
The deceased committed suicide at Santuraki quarters multiple sources confirmed.
It was reported that he killed himself after he found out that his girlfriend marriedje someone else during the seven monthly old strikes embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The deceased left a letter. NEWISSUES gathered that some of the reasons highlighted in the letter which was his leaked farewell letter also included his inability to possess a smartphone despite that his father being wealthy.
According to his friends who leaked the suicide letter, the deceased described life as insignificant to him.
In the letter the deceased chastised his erstwhile girlfriend for leaving him and marrying another person without his consent and stated it as one of the reasons for his decision to kill himself for her betrayal and his father’s failure to give him the privileged to enjoy items of luxury and live an expensive life.
However, his friends and neighbours noted that the student allegedly pleaded with them not to open the letter until it is delivered to his parents.
