The Executive Governor of Bauchi state, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has recieved communities of Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Federal constituency on a solidarity visit at the Government House Bauchi.
The solidarity visit led by the PDP leaders in constituency, is to reaffirm their support and loyal to the governor and that of his administration.
The constituents said the defection of Yakubu Dogara from the PDP to APC will not affect the governor’s popularity and love in the area.
They assured Governor Bala that despite Dogara’s defection, they are in total support with him in any future election.
Governor Bala Mohammed who was highly delighted to receive them, expressed gratitude to the entire communities of the constituency for reaffirming their support to him despite the defection of their federal lawmaker.
The Governor recalled the number of votes given to him by the constituency in last election, said it is above the number that was gotten by Yakubu Dogara.
He condemned all the allegations made against him by the former speaker describing them as baseless.
Governor Bala also challenged Yakubu Dogara for overpaid contracts awarded in his constituency.
Alhamdu Samson, former Speaker Dogara’a Aide who spoke to NEWISSUES magazine said that the Rtd. Hon. Dogara didn’t consult with his people before he defected to the All Progressive Congress. He complained that since Dogara was voted in the previous election, he has not visited the people of his constituency to thank them as other of his colleagues did.
“He didn’t inform us he was defecting. He took the decision on his own out of his own personal interest. Governor Bala Mohammad has been very good to our constituency, he has recognized us more than any governor since 1999 and he hasn’t done anything to us, so we would continue to support the governor.”
Mr. Alhamdu Samson also said the people of Dogara’s constituency feel shocked at his sudden defection and disappointment.
