Kwara police clears air on claims of Zamfara bandits relocating to state

The Kwara State Police Command has dismissed claims that armed bandits fleeing military operations in Zamfara State have taken refuge in Bani town, Kwara State.
Reacting to the viral media report, Police spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi described it as false and misleading, accusing those behind it of trying to incite unnecessary fear among residents.

“There is no intelligence or operational report to support the presence of armed bandits in Bani,” she stated.

She assured the public that security agencies in the state are on high alert, with intensified surveillance measures in place to prevent any threats.

Meanwhile, Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, reassured residents that the state remains safe and secure, urging them to ignore unverified reports and refrain from spreading misinformation.
