Governor Masari of Katsina told newsmen that Miyetti Allah leaders were the facilitators and negotiators who are instrumental in negotiating the release of abducted secondary school students from Kankara in Katsina State.

He said this in the Government House, Katsina, as he address newsmen after news of the release of the students. Governor Masari said no ransom was paid to the kidnappers and that the kidnappers were bandits.
Boko Haram released a video this afternoon showing that the school boys are in their custody. The Nigeria government have insisted that the kidnappers are not Boko Haram, but it is clear that there is some sort of collaboration between the bandits and Boko Haram with this kidnapping.
A visibly tired Governor Masari said the boys would be brought to Katsina to go through medical checkup before they are handed over to their parents.
