The INEC commissioner of Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, said there has been a new spirit and a new resurgence as more and more people are collecting their permanent Voters’ Cards now than in the past.
Mr. Okoye informed journalists about this in Abuja amidst rumours that many people are not collecting their permanent voters card. Most of the new voters who went to register were Peter Obi supporters. Frustrated by PDP and APC selling their votes to the highest bidders in a presidential primaries where they spent millions of dollars to bribe delegates, young Nigerians started a movement to support Mr. Obi.
The movement has still grown so big that both the PDP and APC have been forced to recognise that it is not mere social media rant..
