The Nigerian Police have arrested their men who shot the video of a lady and shared it on social media. In the video the lady was seen handcuffed and being interrogated in Yoruba about a man the said was an armed robber. She spoke in both Yoruba and English, explaining that the alleged armed robber told her he was worked in Lagos and came to her town to execute some project. She was pleading with the policemen not to video her and trying to cover her face.
The video had gone viral on social media with Nigerians asking why the policemen made that video, humiliated the lady and shared it on social media when they protected the armed robber.
In a statement issued by the police, Frank Mba, spokesman for the Nigerian Police said two people have been arrested pertaining the video. ASP Tijani Olatunji, Inspector Gboyega Oyeniyi and a civilian have been arrested for the part they played in the video which the police said is an unprofessional act.

RE: VIRAL VIDEO – ALL PERSONS INVOLVED IDENTIFIED, 2 ARRESTED.
Following investigations into the dehumanizing treatment of a female citizen as shown in a viral video on Wednesday, 22nd July, 2020, the Nigeria Police Force have identified three (3) police officers and one (1) civilian accomplice who participated in the unprofessional act.
Two (2) suspects, ASP Tijani Olatunji and Inspr Gboyega Oyeniyi have been arrested for their role in the discreditable conduct and incivility to a member of the public. They are currently being detained at the Lagos State CID detention facility, Panti, Yaba.
Preliminary investigations show that the policemen who are attached Area ‘A’ Command, Lion Building, Lagos, were on legitimate investigation activities to Ibadan, Oyo State where the incident took place.
Effort is being intensified to arrest the two other accomplices. Meanwhile, appropriate disciplinary procedure will be initiated as soon as investigations are concluded.

A lot of Nigerians have commended the Nigerian Police for responding immediately and doing t right thing by arresting the policemen who humiliated the lady. Such incidents of abuses is quite popular by the Nigerian Police and the social media has again won in this case in a country where government is seriously afraid of social media.
