As part of the effort to promote girl-child education in Northern Nigeria, a non-governmental organisation, Takko Touch Foundation (TTF), has been launched with the aim of empowering and supporting Girl Child Education in Bauchi State and Northern Nigeria at large.
The Takko Touch Foundation (TTF) was initiated by Mr Yasser Babantanko as part of his efforts of giving back to the community and also as a way of celebrating and idolising the life of his Late mother and grandfather who represents the ideals behind the foundation.
Speaking on the motivation behind the initiative, the founder of TTF, Mr Yassern Babantanko said the idea behind it is to foster a better future for Nigeria, especially in northern Nigeria where the illiteracy level is at a higher rate and also since training girl child amounts to training a nation.
He said his foundation and its collaborators will be at forefront of promoting girl-child education.
Mr. Babatanko said his foundation will also be organising leadership training and education programs for teenage school- girls annually. It will also partner with donors to empower them for self-reliance.
During the event, Prof D.E.A Boryo presentedx a paper on the impact of Girl Child Education and she also counselled the pupils on dos and don’ts during their learning process.
On the other hand, Hon Zainab Babantankko lectured the pupils on how to attain their potential as a girl despite the challenges confronting the girl child, especially in northern Nigeria.The event was held at Zaranda Hotel and ended with a Debate and Award presentation to some dignitaries in recognition of their contributions to the development of the girl child.
