The Borno State government has responded, saying cards collected from women in IDP camps are not voters card but food card give to know who has gotten food and the stipends. The Governor himself was among the people sharing the money. The video was edited and shared to make it appear like Zulum supporters are sharing money and collecting voters card by mischief makers.
Mr. Isa Gusau, the spokesman of the governor told NEWISUESS it was work of mischief makers and he has even responded to it on Twitter. “It is an election year and you expect all sorts of these types of propaganda videos all over the internet, but anyone who is discerning, anyone with common sense, will know Governor Zulum will not stoop so low. Election is not a do or die affairs and Zulum is not a cruel man. He is passionate about his people and the people know it.”
