Sen. Wamakko gets Political Science Doctorate Degree

Senator Wamakko, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts, has been in public service for decades now, and serves as a beacon of hope and compass of integrity worthy of emulation for generations yet unborn.

For his remarkable indelible footprints in the political anal of Sokoto State, north and Nigeria at large, the Federal University Dutsin-ma, Katsina State have nominated Senator Aliyu Magatarda Wamakko for an honorary Doctorate Degree of Political Science. 

Senator Wamakko, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts, has been in public service for decades now, and serves as a beacon of hope and compass of integrity worthy of emulation for generations yet unborn. 

The award of Doctorate Degree was contained in a statement personally signed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Armiya'u Hamisu Bichi, where he noted that, “the University at its 117th regular meeting concluded that Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko be Honored with an award of Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) in political science”. 

The statement further added that the award is in appreciation and recognition of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for his commitment to Democratic ideals since the advent of the current Democratic dispensation in Nigeria

The statement read in part, “”Additionally, the Senate of the University noted that the Sterling and indelible contributions of the Senator to  Sokoto State, in varied capacities as public Servant, Deputy Governor, and the Governor as well as the Senator at the Red Chamber in Nigeria's National Assembly are commendable. 

“”The Vice-Chancellor noted that the Senate of the University also recognized the commitment and passion for the growth and development of education, especially the tertiary education sector by Senator Wamakko””. 

A statement by
Bashar Abubakar the Special adviser to Senator Wamakko quoted the Vice  Chancellor, as saying “”he hoped that the award would encourage the Senator to continue to help the sector and particularly the university”.
