The Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives, and Member representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Hon. Philip Agbese, has urged all the Candidates for the forthcoming October 5 Council elections in Benue State to be 100% loyal the SGF, Senator George Akume, leader of APC in the State.
Hon Agbese gave the charge in Abuja yesterday, 13th September, 2024, when the chairmanship candidate of Ado local government, Hon Elias Ogbu Arugwu, paid him a courtesy visit, to present his Certificate oHon Agbese admonished the candidates to always show gratitude to the leader, Sen Akume, whose mentorship has brought them to the limelight of leadership at their own levels. He discribed the SGF as the Arc Angel of APC in Benue State who must be obeyed always and appreciated.
He said, “by the special grace of God you are going to win this election. … When you win and you are inaugurated, …know that the leader is Sen George Akume, the SGF. He is the Arc Angel of the party. He is “God” as far as this party is concerned.
There has been a feud between George Akume and Governor Alia over who is the leadership of the party in Benue, with the governor trying overhaul the party structure and build his own new structure. Hon. Agbese Phillip, a hardcore loyalist to the SGF was the first to make the feud public when he removed the governor's photo from his office.
