Canadian based Idoma politicians and former aide to Governor Ortom has blast Governor Alia of ignoring Zone C in a post on Facebook. Josephine Akioyamen wrote that, “As far as Zone C is concern Father Alia is a dud.”
When many Idoma people who commented on her post supported her, some accused her of partisanship.
One of the people who commented under that post, Sunday Ekoja, wrote that, “Sister, if you visit Karu LGA of Nassarawa state near Abuja, you will agree with me that people of zone c extraction have since found themselves another state other than Benue state. Just that those who may be benefiting from little crumbs politically speaking may not see the reality of Benue politics so skewed against a whole senatorial zone of about 9 LGAs. Thank God for our proximity to Abuja and Nassarawa state that provides that succur for people of zone c. Let's leave everything to God.”
Ted Ebute wrote, “I thought I was the only one complaining. From the moment he pitched camp with the party on whose platform he ran for governorship I knew he would amount to a sectional, vindictive and insensitive governor.👺
He became a politician and completely abandoned the ethics of priesthood even though his office of governor is not an ecclesiastical one, he lacks the sense of fairness of a priest.😣😣😣

However, several others accused Mrs. Josephine Akioyamen of not having the moral rights to criticise the governor since she worked and defended Governor Alia predecessor, Mr. Samuel Ortom, who was not able to pay workers salary for over a year during his tenure.
NEWISSUES has talked to several Idoma people and opinion is divided. Governor Alia at least has been able to pay salary and pension in a state where the two previous state governors had difficulties paying salary and pension. He has a lot of support from civil servants and pensioners. Some Idoma people also said that this isn't about Idoma or Tiv, a lot of people benefitting from Governor Alia are people in his circle.
Idoma people have always complained of being marginalised by Tiv people in the state, and Zone C which comprises of Idoma, Egede and other tribes has been completely Ignored by Tiv. This has continued to push many Idoma people to agitate for their own state.
