Activist Aisha Yesufu supports abortion. She made this known in a response to Anna Lulis on X after she posted a video of twin babies and said no one should abort.
In response, Aisha Yesufu said, “Don’t abort yours, let others be! Let others be! It is not too difficult to ask. Women have died because some feel they have the right to dictate what women do with their body.”
Many who commented on Aisha Yesufu’s post were against abortion, and one respondent has this one for them.
Kiki wrote that “In Nigerian, everyone is pro-life until their babe says pregnant.” Many supported her. When she has targetted men, and it may not be completely true, there has been report of families aborting their tenage daughters pregnancy because of stigma associated with given birth outside wedlock. NEWISSUES found out those who couldn’t afford pregnancy hide their pregnancy and later sell the babies to the booming baby selling black market.
However, Aisha Yesufu’s, a hijab advertising lady’s stands, may not go down well with manu local Nigerian Islamic clerics. She can get away with such comment only because, even as a Muslim raised in the north, Aisha Yesufu is from Edo State, Southern Nigeria, which she has reiterated after Buhari supporters, mostly core northerners, launched an attack on her when she was one of the critics of the previous administration.
