Former Governor of Kogi State, Mr. Yahaya Bello, blantantly refused to obey the law by denying EFCC invitation, running off and going into hiding. Even when he was declared wanted, Mr. Bello refused to appear before the law or issuing statement to address the press on why he is running. Suddenly, when he was tired of staying indoors, at his own will, he drag the puppet governor he put in Kogi State government house to follow him to EFCC, then he came out of EFCC, before EFCC went back to arrest him. This drama is unacceptable. It embarrasses the law enforcement and the judiciary.

For escaping and resisting arrest, and all the drama Mr. Yahaya Bello has continued to act to make the law enforcement look useless, like a toothless bulldog, the EFCC should do everything to see the court keep him in custody as this case proceeds. Mr. Bello has shown that he cannot be trusted on bail.

The whole world is watching as this man is toying with the EFCC. It is unacceptable behaviour. It doesn't speak well at all of Nigeria. This clearly shows that the rich and powerful have different justice system from the poor.

Look at the way the EFCC dealt with the Bob Risky's case quickly, but a case as serious as Mr. Bello case will keep dragging for years until you hear nothing else about it. This behaviour of the political class like Mr. Bello shows that many people do not take the EFCC seriously to be able to handle the Nigerian situation of fighting financial crimes that pertains powerful politicians.
