Former Kano State governor and sole founder of the political party New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), the platform he ran for president, has in an interview told a reporter he is politically bigger than Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the presidential election that brought President Ahmed Tinubu to power.
Mr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso said “Even though they are used to saying we are not educated in the North,” referring to Southern Nigerians, “I have a PhD.”
There has been talk of a Peter Obi/Kwankwaso coming together in 2027 to contest, with Kwankwaso deputising Obi, but it seems that is not going to work.
A merger with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also looks slim as all the candidates of Atiku, Obi, and Kwankwaso want to be president.
