Amidst ragging debate on Nigerians relocating back from Diaspora to settle down back in Nigeria, a film maker and photographer based in Canada, Miss Ukachi Chukwu, summed it all up on her Facebook page as follows:
“I see a reverse japa trend is currently on and I wanted to get a few words in.
“While japa is not everyone’s cup of tea and anyone can prosper anywhere really, it’s important for the reverse japarians to be honest. Reverse japarians with a US, British, Canadian, Australian or any other G8 country passport have something others don’t have: SOLIDIFIED PLAN B.
“They can hop on a plane and zoom off at any time because they are CITIZENS of those countries. Make people dey talk the full story.
“PS: Banky W didn’t japa. He is a US citizen who moved back to his other country. A citizen of a country moving to his country of citizenship is not japa. How is that too complicated to understand?”
Others who commented on the post agreed with her.
“Exactly. How is someone with a passport that allows them enter over 150 countries telling me it is reverse japa? Some of them earn in FX return to Nigeria to spend in naira come dey bobo us for sosho media. Kikikiki,” Akintunde O. Babatunde wrote.
An Orthopedic surgeon that just relocated to Nigeria after spending 25 years practicing in United States has been trending after he made a video advertising his business.
There is a campaign on social media by those who don’t believe in leaving the country against those who left or are planning to leave.
